The surroundings
Briones is a walled medieval town located atop a hill at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level. It is situated in the centre of La Rioja Alta, 7 km from Haro and only 36 km from Logroño, the capital of La Rioja.
The town stands out for the magnificence of its ashlar palaces and mansions many of which still bear the coats of arms of their former owners on their façades. These spectacular buildings include the oldest in La Rioja, which is still in a good state of repair. From the Torre del Homenaje, all our eyes can see are vineyards, as grape growing is the driving industry in Briones.
